About Us


We provide only the finest free range, hormone free and antibiotic free meats. We believe in old fashioned customer service in a bright modern shop. We have one of the largest ranges of value added products. We also dry age select cuts of beef for up to two and a half months .


Willowbank Beef is more than just another beef brand. It represents the culmination of over thirty five years of cattle breeding experience. Kevin and Wendy Armstrong are second generation farmers who became frustrated with the lack of quality assurance shown by many of the industries processors. Passionate about their trade they decided the only way to ensure a consistent high quality product was to start their own beef brand and so Willowbank Beef was born.

The Armstrongs source only the finest Murray Grey and Black Angus genetics. They run a breeding herd of 600 to 700 head of cattle. The offspring are allowed to roam free on some of four farms owned by the family, grazing on some of the southwests finest pastures. In addition no beef in the herd are given any artificial hormones or antibiotic growth Promotants. Once slaughtered the carcasses are allowed to hang for the optimal period of two or more weeks before being broken into primal's. We believe this results in some of the tenderst, tastiest and healthiest beef available on the market today.


The use of hormones in beef is very contraversial. Currently synthetic hormones are allowed to be used in Australian beef, despite the fact that measurable residual hormones are present in this beef. These hormones are subsequently past on to the consumer and are believed to contribute to lower sperm counts and premature development in young girls. All Willowbank beef is hormone free. We believe this gives a tastier, tenderer and safer product at a reasonable price.


Antibiotics resistance is a naturally occuring phenomenon throughout the western world as a result of oversubscription of antibiotics. None of our beef is given antibiotics as a growth promotant. When used for therapeutic reasons they are administered responsibly and rationally. This lessons the likelihood of the development of drug resistant bacterias.
